Senior Laboratory Technician

This position is responsible for, but not limited to, managing cases, and designing custom dental prostheses for DENTALIS Custom Dental and both laboratory and clinical customers. This position shall be responsible for processing daily orders to customer specifications, including but not limited to participation with IQ/OQ/PQ’s for new software, products and process validations. Secondary activities will include customer support as relates to dental prosthetics, dental surgical guides, and various dental surgical treatment planning software. Also supports other digital dentistry manufacturing initiatives as established with manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Scan Cases for CAD design work
  • Perform CAD design of dental prostheses per customer specifications
  • Completes all work in accordance with DENTALIS Quality Manual
  • Ensures established turnaround times for product are achieved
  • Provides customer support as it relates to CAD/CAM prosthetics and surgical guides
  • Coordinates cases with customers as they are received through Customer Care, processed through various software, and distributed physically throughout Vulcan
  • Provides support and training to Vulcan customers, partner companies, and online
  • Participates in CAD production-related qualifications including Installation, Operation, and Process Validations
  • Works with outside suppliers as needed
  • Investigates and addresses customer complaints
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned


Qualifications:

  • Strong computer skills required
  • At least 5 years’ experience designing crowns, copings, bridges, models, and abutments in 3Shape, Exocad, Dental Wings or equivalent software
  • Know and understand tooth morphology
  • Experience with IOS scans and importing files from various scanner software platforms
  • Must be comfortable in production environment where production quotas are mandated


Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Dental Lab/medical device experience required
  • Engineering experience preferred
  • Dental Laboratory background within implant dentistry preferred
  • Knowledge of 3Shape, Exocad, and Dental Wings (DWOS) software usage preferred
